Daily Workouts App Reviews

Minimalist and varied

This is working out great for me and my new years resolutions. I do one of the 5 daily workouts on weekdays, sometimes only the 5 minute option but its something, and Saturdays the full. I think for a weak beginner like me, its perfect, but I think if you were fitter the longer 30m full sessions would work. I like that they take the decision-making out of it, you just pick the length of the workout and know youre getting targeted exercises. I like the minimalist instruction: literally just the title of the exercise, no annoying Hey good job looking great all the way through. That said, I do enjoy the applause at the end that I think may have come from the muppet show, that makes me smile. I would give five stars if it also had a warm up exercise and cool down at the beginning and end of each workout, and for a little written thing at the bottom indicating what exercise is coming up next, as 3 seconds isnt always enough to switch positions.

Too slow

With the upgrade to Mavericks is very slowly the opening!!! More than 15 seconds! Anyway, good app to practise at home

Very easy to do!

The workouts are intense, with short bursts of 45 seconds or so (in the full workout) in just 15 minutes I was sweating. This app is great, I am well on my way to reaching my goal of losing 15 pounds in two months.

Great app, but…..

I love this app, they just need to fix it, like when i create my own routine it wont save it, i click on upper body workout and it will just give me random exercises. i hope they fix it soon.

Great

I was breaking out in a sweat when I was done I love to create Custom workouts!

It works!

this is great for a person like me that is on the go all the time. if i get an extra 15 min in front of my computer I start the app and traget som trouble areas I have lost 3 inches, of course you need to add a good diet to the mix but overall something that I am defenately happy with and seems like its worthe the price.

Good, but needs difficulty level

I liked it, and the videos of the exercises were very helpful. However, I wish there was a way to either skip exercises or possibly a difficulty level setting, as within a 10 min workout, I got thrown 3 exercises I physically can not do (I have very tight tendons in my legs), and two that due to my (lack of) fitness level were nearly impossible. Also, Id appreciate a warm-up and/or cool-down stretching routine. Still, I really liked it.

Helpful!

I had no idea where to start when it came to workouts. This ap is so simple and its also very helpful. I dont have workout equipment but with this ap, I can get a good workout in the comfort of my home! I use it everyday and it really works.

Help!

I cant get it to go to my iphone and I bought it on my iMac. I tried to see if it would download on my iphone but it wants to charge me again!? I am using the same account. Do I have to buy for both devices?

Great but could still use some simple improvements

I really like how the workout categories have been broken down making them more specific and also the ability to customize your own workout. However, Id really like to be able to save custom workouts and label them for future use. Should be a simple adjustment and a real timesaver since I wouldnt have to recreate my custom workout everytime I open the app.

Great app

LOVE this app, especially the latest update for targeted areas (abs, arms, etc). To the developer - thanks so much for your continued work on this app (as well as the iOS versions)!

First Workout Feeling Good!!!

I thought the excercises would be easy but it was a great mix up of more difficult ones and easy ones, I just did the ten minute workout quick and broke a sweat. Happy so far!

Awesome!

This app is great… theres a huge variety of workouts and it always gets me sweating!

Really Great But

Very well made however, still lacks full-screen support. For a Mac app this feature should be a no-brainer especially because one would have to constantly refer to their monitor during a work out session. Otherwise I love everything about it. Add more exercises!

LOVE

I love this app! I always use it when I cant get to the gym and I get a good workout from it I always break a sweat and feel tired at the end i love it! It is so nice how you can click which section of the body you want to workout and how they give you the option of doing a mixed up workout of customizing your own and picking the time. I LOVE THIS APP! Great job to the creator.Hopefully in the future they will come out with an update of some new workouts or add the daily yoga to it!

It

I like the video demonstrations of the exercises and the selection of exercises but the application falls short. Heres why: If you want a custom workout you HAVE to select 10 exercises exactly. You cannot select 5 or 11. Why is this an issue? Well, I tore my ACL, for the cardio workout I cannot do (or am afraid to do) any sort of jumping, or lateral motion. So I found 6 exercises I thought I could pull off. However, I cant create a workout with only those exercises. Big Fail in my book. You cant advance to the next exercise. If you start a routine, and you find you want to jump ahead, you have to go back to select the next exercise, you cannot simply go to the next one while the routine is playing. This is a huge nuisance. Notably so when you want to quickly review which exercises are there. It would be much easier if you could rather than 1) go to Start from exercise 2) select exercise 3) view a few second 4) hit home button 5) hit start from exercise 6) select exercise 7) view a few seconds.. etc ANother example is when you are doing the 10minute routine, and perhaps you can only do 30seconds of a particular exercise. Well, you have to wait that extra thirty seconds before the next exercise displays. In those instances as well, it would be very nice to be able to go to the next exercise directly. I mean think about it. When you are playing music on your iPod and a song comes on you hate, do you have to go back to the album and select the next song? No, you simply advance to the next song using the >> control. I would think these capabilities would be standard and including them would go a long way to making this a really nice application. If you wanted to make it really great, you would have the option to not only select any number of exercise but the duration of each. The above points make the app not as flexible as you would think. and as a result I give it three stars.

Very good and cheap app

Ive been doing the ab workouts for a month now and they still get me tired, if youre looking for more of a challenge, do the 10m excersise twice! As for the 4 and 3 star reviews: after my third workout I didnt need to look at my screen because the app tells you what excersise to do and with enough training you should begin to remember what they are! And really this app is just a quick starter. If you can only do six, why dont you write them down and use the timer on your watch? problems solved.

Nice app, but unreal

This is a nice looking app and Im sure Ill benefit from some of the routines, but it should be pointed out that the videos are looped so that the instructor looks as fresh on the first one as she does on the last one. Some of these routines are very demanding and exhausting if you try to sync with the video and its certain that you will not keep up the pace and composure that youll be seeing on the screen. Just look closely at the ponytail flipping around and youll see that on every two or four repetions the loop engages. Its a shame that this app seems to think its more important to look good (actually perfect!) than to show the real thing. Theres a place for looped video but in this case it seems dishonest and puts an unrealistic and probably unachievable goal in front of the viewer. But if you can prove me wrong Ill be the first to applaud your fitness and the stratagy behind this app.

its good but could be better

Some exercises should be have a rest between. For example, after 90 seconds of right obliques I go into left obliques. Maybe working a different muscle group between would be better. It would be nice to have a playlist so we can move the exercises around. Fullscreen would be nice as well. Also, pressing space bar to pause would be great too.

Great!

This was a great app! The strength exercises were fantastic, and I consider myself to be in pretty good shape. With my school schedule, I dont have the time to get to the gym as often as Id like, but I can do this for varying durations at home!
